We, the gents and the ladies, all plan our outfits over months. We decide on one design or colour or type and price of the attire then change our minds; This is so normal and is human nature, especially when we want everything to be perfect. I had three outfits in mind; a pants-suit ( that I ended up not buying), a black off-shoulder velvet top with high-waist blue pants & an African attire. Well, the AFRICAN ATTIRE won the ‘GRADUATION ATTIRE BATTLE😎’.
Ms Thandeka Khoza’s outfit was tailored just to her liking and taste. Her accessories were absolutely what she likes and wears all the time. “I love when clothes make cultural statements and I think personal style is really cool💁💁” Anne Hathaway. The length of her dress was just perfect, & the details at the bottom of the dress gave it a unique🙌 touch. Many of us would have gone for a slit on the dress, but her patterned touch sealed the deal. I bet her choice of red was influenced by the red colour of the Law Faculty sashe. The black touch on her dress and neck-piece, the black shoes and all her African accessories were in complete harmony.
I was so impressed by just how many people wore pant suits to this season’s graduation. Ms Matsatsi Rasekgololo killed it👌👌 in her body fitting, pink pant suit. She gave it a touch of black (top and purse) that just made everything perfect, especially because her hair was long and black. The shiny details of her purse made it speak on its own as well as with the shoes. The ankle length pants left enough room for the shoes to be so outstanding. The length of her coat just made her look like a boss💪💪she was on that graduation day.
Baby pink is a colour of peace for so many of us. It has a love language to it. Ms Risuna Mnisi knew exactly where she wanted the details of her dress to be. The lace design around her chest was everything that dress needed to be outstanding 😋. Her pulled back and gelled hair, nail polish, make-up and nude block heeled shoes were matched up perfectly 🤗🤗 for the occasion.
There is something about red>> An unspoken command. I first saw Ms Ntwanano’s dress on a friend at a wedding and thought it was perfect for the occasion. Little did I know it would be perfect for graduation. The big bow on the dress makes you turn your head whenever she walks in. Her simple accessories, make-up and black block heeled shoes gave the dress the attention it deserved. She toned down the other details of her outfit such that this awesome dress stood out. Despite having the gown on, the dress was still the center of attraction🤗🤗.
Anyone who wore a beige outfit just spoke to my heart. Beige has a calming tone, commands respect and lots of love from the people who see you. The colour of Ms Natasha Ncube’s nail polish 💅 just had to fall into place with the Engineering faculty sashe. Her beige, under-the-knee-length dress spoke in complete harmony with her black and beige laced shoes👠. Her simple touch of accessories gave her that complete look she needed.
What would a graduation ceremony be without someone rocking a JUMPSUIT🤔🤔? Jumpsuits are the sauce to anyone’s closet. This mustard off-shoulder jumpsuit worn by Ms Selloane Seliane was an awesome pick. The mustard colour complimented her skin colour and worked in awesome way with her black heels and the red Law Faculty Sashe. Her shoulder length hair left her showing enough skin to attract attention as to the jumpsuit 😜😜😜.
These ladies did an awesome job picking out their outfits. They observed:
